COVID-19 Guide to Opening

COVID-19 Guide to Opening for the 100th anniversary season at Erwin Orchards & Cider Mill

As we open for the 2020 fall season, rest assured that we have gone to great lengths to create a safe and enjoyable experience for all our customers, as well as our valued team of employees. At our farm, per Governor Whitmer’s Executive Orders and CDC Guidelines, we have implemented the following procedures and safety protocols for Erwin Orchards & Cider Mill. The cider mill has been rearranged to create a safer flow when entering and exiting.

  • Every employee is screened daily for wellness prior to beginning their shift by filling out a questionnaire and having their temperature taken.
  • Our staff will always wear masks and will practice safe procedures such as sanitizing their check out station frequently and using hand sanitizer after each customer transaction.
  • All visitors to our farm take notice of the signage mandates, and to wear a mask or facial covering (for people ages 5 and older) when entering the cider mill, purchasing apple bags at the u-pick window, upon boarding the u-pick wagon, and while waiting in any line.
  • Maintain 6 feet social distancing between other visitors and Erwin Orchards staff whenever possible in the cider mill, waiting in any line, boarding and riding the wagons, and picking apples and pumpkins in the orchard.
  • Frequently use our convenient hand sanitizer and hand washing stations located at the entrance and exit to the cider mill, at the cash register counter, and other locations on the grounds.
  • Plexiglass dividers are installed between each cash register and at the top of the check-out counter for your safety.
  • Wood dividers are installed on our wagons to help keep everyone safe.
  • We installed 6 feet distancing dividers at the goat pen and a sanitizing and hand washing station.

Thank you in advance for your cooperation during this challenging 2020 harvest season. Stay safe and healthy. Follow the guidelines and above all – have fun!

Warmest Regards,

The Erwin Orchards Family
